Travel Update 

To our Harbor View Hotel guests,

We hope you are all safe and healthy. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.  We anticipate reopening the Harbor View Hotel and Bettini Restaurant on June 8, 2020. Currently, Bettini Restaurant is open for take out only, and will reopen at the same time as the hotel for in restaurant dining at limited capacity per the state guidelines. We will continue to monitor local orders and guidance and will keep you updated should this date shift. Please continue to check our website for updates.

As part of our commitment to keeping our associates, guests and the Martha's Vineyard community safe, we are adhering to the guidelines issued by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and will incorporate the guidelines set by the state of Massachusetts as soon as they are published. This includes but is not limited to requesting all associates to wear masks, wash hands frequently, keep a six foot separation from others, and stay home when sick. What to Expect on the Island

Many guests have asked what the island is like right now as a result of Covid-19. Here are some good resources for what’s open and what to expect.

Some of the basics:

  • Most ferries including the Edgartown Falmouth Ferry, are running - Bring your mask. You will be required to wear it. Check the Ferry websites for schedules. 

  • Beaches are open

  • Majority of restaurants, including Bettini Restaurant in Harbor View Hotel, are open for takeout making it easy to enjoy meals picnic style

  • Many retailers have moved to an online format and are offering curbside pick-up

  • Salons open May 25th (this is statewide)

  • The islands walking trails and biking trails are available and provide a great way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors


Safety and Cleaning Standards

Associate Training:

  • Ongoing training will take place to ensure all of our associates are properly informed of enhanced cleanliness protocol and standards, including the enforcement of frequent handwashing. Associates are required to wear masks.

Common Spaces:

  • Welcome and concierge desks will be wiped with disinfectant after each guest interaction.
  • Counters, door handles, and other high traffic areas will receive increased cleaning with disinfectant.
  • Bellman will use gloves when handling guest luggage.

Guest Rooms:

  • Items such as magazines, guest directories, and other materials have been removed from rooms
  • Tables, door knobs, and high contact areas will receive a final disinfectant wipe down upon exiting the room during housekeeping service.
  • Room keys will be disinfected immediately upon return  

Restaurant Service:

  • Seating density will be reduced in our restaurant and bar to provide more space in between tables.

  • Culinary Team will all wear protective masks.

  • Menus will be sanitized for each new guest. Placemats and check presenters have been removed.

  • Tables and chairs will be cleaned and sanitized before seating new guests.

  • Food will be delivered by  servers wearing gloves that are removed and disposed of frequently.

Bettini Take Out & Delivery

  • Associates and guests will be required to maintain a social distance of 6’ apart at all times

  • Associates will adhere to strict standards of frequent hand washing and sanitizing of surfaces

  • All food and beverage will be prepared and handled by trained associates wearing masks and gloves, and gloves will be changed frequently

  • No cash payments will be accepted. Credit card payment and orders will be taken over the phone or through our online ordering system when available.

  • An associate wearing gloves and a mask will deliver food directly into the guest’s truck to avoid contact


Your well being and that of our associates are our first priority. We will continue to abide by best practices and adapt our protocol as necessary.
